We have evolved our face mask with subtle updates since the outbreak of Covid-19. We are a mattress and bedding company, but we recognized the need for more face masks early on. That's why we jumped in quickly in mid-March — dedicating part of our Cut & Sew department in our Los Angeles facility to stitching reusable face masks using the materials that we know best — high quality, natural, organic fibers.
Avocado has made and distributed nearly 250,000 of them now. And we've learned a few things along the way, adjusting for minor nuances and streamlining our process to produce more masks to address this urgent need. Our latest version (pictured above launched 4/29) has a pocket for a filter and reinforced straps and is sold in packs of four child or four adult masks (previous versions included family packs with four of each size). All of our mask iterations use the same GOTS organic certified cotton materials and are GOTS organic certified.
